Verve Poetry Slam 2026
On Tuesday 10th February a group of our wonderful Year 6 pupils took part in 'The Verve Annual Poetry Slam' at Birmingham Old Rep Theatre. The JWPS performance poets went head to head with 9 other Birmingham based schools including Rednal Hill Junior School, Northfield Manor and Coppice Primary School to name a few. The event was hosted by Birmingham poet Giovanni 'Spoz' Esposito alongside so very accomplished judges/poets.
It was an incredible experience for the children and the performance by our Year 6's did dnot disappoint. Their enthusiasm, confidence, creativity and oracy shone through and they all looked very comfortable on stage infront of an audience. I wonder where we will see these superstars next!
