Sustainability
"Setting an example is not the main means of influencing others, it is the only means!" Albert Einstein
Our school is taking action for the planet! We’re aiming to cut our carbon footprint by 10%, and our Green Influencers Club—with over 30 members—is leading the way. We’re also learning from local secondary schools about sustainability and working alongside local artist and activist Stephen Whitehead to create displays, posters, assemblies, and events that promote taking care of our planet. Small changes, like recycling and saving energy, can make a big difference!
Sustainability links to many subjects across the curriculum, like Science, Geography, and RHE. In Science, children learn about the environment and how living things depend on it. In Geography, they explore our planet and how people affect it. In RHE, they think about how their choices impact the world and others. By learning about sustainability, children understand more about today’s world and why we need to change our ways to protect it for the future
