James Watt Primary School

Curiosity Creativity Confidence

School Ambassadors 2022-2023

The aim of School Council is to give the pupils at James Watt Primary School a strong ‘pupil voice’.

This means that when important decisions are made about our school, these will be informed by the pupils themselves, wherever possible.

For example, pupils can offer suggestions about how our Sports’ Premium money is spent, and they can advise staff on a full range of issues that affect them and the school.

It is important that we ask our children their opinions because this will help them to understand how things work, how decisions are made, and how to work cooperatively.

The current School Council is made up from two class representatives from each class from Year 2 to Year 6. This term, the School Council will be discussing the following issues:

  • Lunchtime activities in KS1 and KS2
  • The ‘Rights Respecting School Charter’
  • Sports’ Premium spending

We wish all of the children involved another very successful and productive year.
